Actress Trisha, who is entering into Bollywood with the movie “Khatta Meetha “opposite with Akshay kumar. Her latest released tamil movie “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa” (Ye Maya Chesave in Telugu) is big hit and she is enjoying the success.

The latest news is that she is planning to shift her base from Chennai to Mumbai. When asked if she would still leave for Mumbai, actress Trisha said, “I’’m here. I’ve not left.” When pointed out that there had been reports that she had been looking to purchase properties in Mumbai, she said, “Yes, I’ve had a look at two or three houses in Mumbai. But that is not to shift. I’m looking at it as only an investment option.”

‘Mass,’ ‘Style,’ ‘Don’ and ‘Muni’ – all are directorial hits of choreographer-director-actor Lawrence Raghavendra. He is now getting ready for his fifth film ‘Muni- 2,’ which is going to be a sequel to ‘Muni.’ Regular shooting of the film will start from the first week of April. Hot South Indian beauty Aushka Shetty will be pairing with Lawrence in the film. It will be made in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously.

She believes in weaving magic on-screen. And Moubani Sorcar expects that with Basu Chatterjee’s Trishanku and Ajit Banerjee’s Nachni, the actor in her will get ample scope to showcase her prowess.

Elated to be working with a veteran director like Basu Chatterjee, Moubani says, “I was asked by the production house to send my portfolio pictures which were then forwarded to Basuda. There were others who were considered for the role and I am fortunate to have bagged the part.” In fact, Moubani was told that the character was going well with her persona. Talking about the film she continues, “It’s based on a mother-daughter relationship. Papiya Adhikari plays my mother, while Abhiraj is paired opposite me.”

The actor is equally excited about Nachni, where she plays a folk dancer from Purulia. “In spite of being trained in classical dance, I had to learn different types of folk dances in order to essay the part. In fact, there were certain sequences in the film which were mentally exhausting and left me emotionally drained. I wish heart and soul that the film does something for the Nachni community.”

While Nachni will be releasing soon, the actor has quite a few projects lined up to hit theatres. “There’s Lojja, Mon Chaye Tomaye and Poran Bondhu Re, to name a few,” Moubani adds.

With her sister Mumtaz too having made her big screen foray, she certainly must have had producers and directors queueing up to cast the siblings together? To this she answers, “There are offers, but I would like to wait till I get a right banner and script. It is better to be part of a project that utilises our potential to the core.”

One of Hollywood’s biggest directors, James Cameron, and his mega blockbuster sci fi epic, Avatar, lost out the Best Picture and Best Director Oscar to ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow’s Iraq war drama, The Hurt Locker.

The film won six Oscars in total and created history for Kathryn Bigelow, who’s become the first woman to win the Best Director prize in the Oscars’ 82-year history. Bigelow called the victory “the moment of a lifetime.” She also happens to be Cameron’s ex-wife. Cameron had said before the ceremony that he wanted her to beat him. “It’d be really cool to lose to her. So far, she hasn’t had the accolades she deserves. I hope she gets it,” a daily had quoted Cameron. Prophetic, indeed!

Kareena Kapoor was elated when the weavers of the remote Chanderi village in Madhya Pradesh had gifted her a gorgeous hand-woven black and gold saree, which she even wore for a press conference of 3 Idiots.

However, she was saddened by the fact that there was no electricity whatsoever in the village because of which the weavers had no choice but to work in darkness with only candles as a source of light. Moved by their plight, Kareena has now given them a Rs 3 lakh (approximate) cheque to raise a solar energy plant and within two months the village will have electricity.

A source said, “Kareena had gone to Chanderi village in MP with Aamir Khan for the promotion of 3 Idiots. The weavers gave her the handmade saree and she also had dinner with them. However, she realised that it was extremely difficult for these workers to weave as there was no electricity in their village.

Consequently, she has now given the cheque to the village officials and is also speaking to several Bollywood friends to join her in the cause to bring electricity to all villages in the country. She didn’t want to only talk about it but to also come forward and do something constructive.”

Kareena said, “I was a little shocked to see how these people work. At the end of the day it’s our country and I learnt that there are about 100 villages in the country which have no electricity. I have handed over a cheque to the concerned authorities to build a solar energy plant. It’s a nominal amount but it can bring smiles to many faces, which is why I wanted to do this. I am told that in about two months, the plant will be built and there will be electricity in Chanderi.

I am also going to ask my friends in the film industry to come forward and make a difference,” she said

New Delhi: Last seen in Yash Raj Films` “Laaga Chunari Mein Daag” in 2007, jaya bachchan is back with low-budget venture “Lovesongs” and her husband Amitabh Bachchan says she has to believe in the filmmaker and the movie to take up the role.

“She has this inclination of wanting to be associated in ventures… that she will feel strongly about – socially, morally, woman centric, purposeful and one that she would believe in even when the film is out of the cans. Her basis of selection must adhere to one of the others mentioned above. Not always. But yes, generally,” Amitabh posted on his blog early Sunday morning from London.

“She must also have a connect with the (film)maker. There must be an area of level thought and feel. She will look for a quality that endears her to him or her personally. It is not all about work and profession, it`s about whether she will be able to build a relation. The production or the set becomes her home then,” he added.

Big B, 67, further threw light on his wife of 37 years bonding with a film and crew.

“She will look at it with individual and personal interest. If the surroundings are not clean she will clean it, point out irregularities that do not suit or agree with her aesthetics. Crew and colleagues become her friends. She will sit with them in the make-up room, not necessarily to discuss the next shot or scene or to be learning her lines but, to chat informally, as if at home,” he wrote.

“To become an element of their troubles and disclosures if there be. To suggest, advise. Become a confidante to. I find them over at the house often, more out of social need than one that could be professional. Their troubles become hers, their joys and accomplishments her ecstasy. And they remain so, even when the disconnect on the completion of a project occurs,” he added.

lara dutta is planning to bring out fitness apparel and DVDs, like fellow actress Bipasha Basu. This has left the Bengali bombshell fuming.Dutta plans to launch a fitness DVD along similar lines and beau Mahesh Bhupathi is helping her with his connections in the sporting industry.Lara and her friends have been making discreet enquiries at her office and  with Bips’ close friends about her further plans, so as to avoid repetition.” This has upset Basu, who would’ve preferred a straight approach.On with the second!

Says a source, “Bipasha had always planned for a 3-DVD set. The first one already launched one, her second should be launched a little later this year and she hopes the third one will also be out shortly after. Now that the first DVD is a sell-out, Bipasha has been pushing the Shemaroo guys (they’re bringing out the video) to bring out the second lot soon. While the Bengali bombshell is okay with Lara bringing out her own fitness video though she hopes it’s not just a “me-too” gimmick but a serious effort on her rival’s part.

When quizzed about Lara’s similar plans Bipasha says, “I have heard that a lot of people are thinking along similar lines. I have no problems if people follow trends but I hope whosoever does it, does it with all their heart, dedication and passion in it and not just as an experiment, or a PR strategy. If other actresses bring out fitness DVDs for monetary benefits or as fad, it dilutes my efforts.”Bipasha adds, “I would love to see dedicated fitness enthusiasts like Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Salman Khan bring out fitness DVDs.

Salman got the men fit in our country. These stars are icons in fitness and people would want to know from them. I have done the DVD with a lot of passion and put my heart and soul into it. Apart from my films, fitness is my passion.” lara dutta remained unavailable for comment.

P.Vasu who has directed ‘Aaptha Rakshaka’ film with late Vishnuvardhan in Sandalwood is now planning to remake the film in Telugu and Tamil versions. The film is a sequel to Chandramukhi. Super Star Rajini Kanth has acted in the original version of Chanramukhi in Tamil and Telugu. If reports are to be believed the sequel will cast Mega star Chiranjeevi in the Telugu version while Super Star Rajini in Tamil version.

Aaptha Rakshaka has become a sensational hit in Sandalwood and is creating new records in its collections. The film collected a whopping sum of Rs.6 crores in just three weeks. If all goes well and Chiranjeevi agrees the film, it will become a great come back to him in the Telugu film industry

Reports reveal that Ajay has been keeping very busy with his latest release ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?’, which is why he`s been finding it hard to watch ‘my name is khan.’ But Ajay’s ignorant behaviour has now begun to annoy the temperamental Kajol, according to reports.

Nevertheless, grapevine has it that Ajay is not too keen to watch ‘MNIK’ because of Shah Rukh, as it is believed that the two are not very fond of each other.

Well, we would just like to announce that ‘my name is khan’ surely deserves to be watched for Kajol’s magnificent performance, if not for anything or anyone else!

The most eagerly awaited romantic saga “kites”, which stars Hrithik Roshan and Mexican model Barbara Mori, produced by Rakesh Roshan and directed by Anuraag Basu will be released May 21.

The film has two versions – English and Hindi versions will hit 1,700 screens worldwide in 60 countries.
